One day in Kindergarden the teacher handed everyone a printout of the alphabet letters in uppercase.When Ms. Doubtfire would call out a letter everyone in the class should circle the corresponding letter.Fiv year old Samantha loved this activity.This particular day Ms. Doubtfire said " Find the letter M and circle it". Spanglish
Sam is bilingual.At home Spanish was spoken.In English class articulating the word "sentence" was hard to do.The children would laugh thinking its funny, but Sam felt they were laughing at her.She never thought to ask her parents for help.4th stage. Embarassment,shame,being different were all experienced.Sam no longer volunteered, or would look down when called upon. -
Just one of the boys
Sam joined the military and was stationed overseas where the drinking age was 18.Working in a mostly male career field the majority of her friends were male.She was one of the boys.She partied hard and wanted no committments.Albeit surrounded by males, she lacked intimacy.6 stage.Identity was confused being a tomboy.She did not feel like she was missing out on long term relationships, but enjoyed short term.It took getting out of that environment to realize what she was had was not normal. -
Maturity age of six
Unmarried Sam has no children.She has pets,has the sports car, and never has to worry about money.She is extremly selfish and is inmature compared to her peers.If she wants something she goes out and buys it.Realizing how her friends are married and moving forward, she is stuck.No longer cares about money,but doesnt know how to move on through life.7th stage.Not having to have anyone to care for, she tends to avoid committments, but sees and envys her peers for having families.Possible 8th stage
