  • Apple Computer Founded

Apple was founded by: Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ron Wayne.
They released the Apple I shortly after founding Apple.
  • Apple II

The Apple II was a computer made by Apple that was easier to use than the original Apple I, and it was a lot faster too. It came with a color screen and could play sounds.
  • The Macintosh

The Macintosh was an improved version of the Apple II. It was designed for home users. It's software design set a blueprint for today's MacOS.
  • Period: to

    Leaving Apple: Pixar + NeXT

Steve resigned from his job at Apple on 9/17/1985. He then created another computer company, NeXT. However, NeXT was a flop. He also bought a company, named Pixar. Pixar made software for creating movies on a computer. However, most people weren't buying it. Steve helped Pixar make some movies on their own. Later, Pixar was bought by Walt Disney Studios.
  • Return to Apple

On 12/20/1996, NeXT was bought by Apple, making Steve part of his original company once again.
  • iMac Released

Shortly after Steve went back to Apple, he discovered that Apple was very behind! Apple computers couldn't do what most other computers could! Steve had Apple leap into action, releasing the iMac, which could handle some of the features that older Apple computers couldn't.
  • iPod Released

    iPod Released
The first Apple device to run the touchscreen-friendly iOS, the iPod, didn’t originally run iOS. It was a music player that was a hit! It could sync it’s music with the collection on a Mac or PC that had iTunes.
  • iTunes Store

Apple computers come with a app called iTunes. Before this date, iTunes didn't have a way to buy music. This meant that people had to copy music off a CD, which didn't have to belong to the user, meaning that people could get music on their computer, without paying for it, which was illegal. However, Apple released the iTunes Store, an app that allowed people to buy music directly from the company that made it. This reduced the music piracy.
  • iPhone Released

The next Apple device released was the iPhone. The iPhone was like a very lightweight computer (software wise), but you could make phone calls with it and it was very portable!
  • iPad Released

And the last device by Apple that ran iOS, was the iPad. The iPad was like the iPhone, except it couldn’t make calls, and it had a bigger screen. (It can make phone calls nowadays, thanks to apps like Skype).
  • Death

Steve Jobs died on 10/5/2011. His last words were: "Oh Wow. Oh Wow. Oh Wow."
