    Muhammed was born

    Muhammed's parents died during his childhood, and was raised by his Uncle Talib. Later, he worked for a widow (Kahadija), then eventully married her. Muhammed had seven children but only one survied.

    Muhammed wondered why many people, including ones in his own family, had grown rich but did not share it with the poor. He also wondered why the tribes were always at war with one another.

    Leaders of Mecca called boycott on Muslims that lasted 2 years. Muhammed and followers faced starvation. Muhammed's wife and last living relative died during this period of time.

    Muhammed and followers moved from Mecca to Yathrib

    Medina was established

    1.) Muhammed gathered all of the religious groups of Yathrib and created a tribe. The settelment would become the city of Medina
    2.) In Medina, the first mosques were built. People of all religions were able to worship freely.

    Muhammed died

    The region was mostly united under Islam before his death. After his death Islam continued to spread throughout the world.
