This school provided education for deaf students that was tailored to their needs, with professionals specialized in hearing impairment. This school but was the first of many schools that catered to the deaf, it was an inspiration.

    The Perkins School for the Blind opened, it was founded by Samuel Gridley Howe. It was the first school for the blind in the United States. This school is the reason for our advanced teaching methods that cater to the blind.
