Christopher Columbus was look for a shorter route from Asia to India but, instead he discovers the spanish colonization in the Bahamas and made 4 trips. The importance to this is becasue he started the spanish exploring in North America becasue of the riches he found. -

Cortes was tring to find gold when he discovered the Mexico. He conquered the Aztec Empire and the leader, Montezuma. He had found and brought back 6 million dollars worth and 99 tons of gold.He had sparkled the interest of people to explore North and South America of how much gold he had found. -

Pineda discovers rio grande
Pineda was trying to find a route to the pacific route to the Pacific ocean. He had found a map to the Gulf Coast from Florida to Texas. He possibly had discoverd the Rio Grande River. its important becasue his map of the Texas Coast led the others to explore the Gulf. -

De Vaca
De Vaca went with his leader, Narvez with 300 men. they start exploring Florida. They went to the other side of the island and couldnt find the ship. they were left there because they though they were dead. -

De Vaca Shipwrecks
De Vaca starts expedition in Florida with 300 men. They get left on Florida and built 5 bots to get back to Cuba. They shipwrecked onto Galveston with only 80 survivors. They found the Karankawas and lived for 4 years with them. Most had died over the winter. Narvez dies and De Vaca got seperated from the others. De Vaca found other survivors and became slaves for the indians. They had became medicine man after performing the 1st surgery. 8 years later they were found. -

in 1539 Marcus and Estaban were told that there was 7 cities of gold, bigger than Mexico. they were told by the Turk. he said there plates, forks,etc. were all gold and that it was runned by amazon women. They head off to find the 7 cities with Cornado. -

Moscoso took over for De Soto after his death at the Mississippi river. They were exploring from Florida to Texas since no one did after Pineda made the map. After his death, Moscoso went on to explore East Texas. -

Coronado and the & 7 cities of gold
Coronado goes with Marcoa to look for the 7 ctities of gold. they find nothing but a indian village called Zuni. When they resisted the spanish, 125 zunis got burned alive. Turk tells them that theres a better ctite that was runned by amazon women. they traveled 5 different states and finds a place called Quivera. Coronado and the others knew turk was lying. they made him dig his own grave and Coronado strangles Turk.
