    IN Shrewsbury,England, Charles Robert Darwin was born to parents Robert Darwin and Susanna Darwin, fifth of six siblings in 1809.
  • Charles' Childhood

    Charles' Childhood
    At the age of nine-years-old, Charles was attending the school chose for him: Shrewsbury School For Boys. Charles had a love for science; this was noticed by his teachers and parents, and at the meet age of 13, Charles built a science lab in his garden shed, which is where he kept his treasured collection of beetles; these beetles would later be named after him, Darwin's beetles.
  • Unlucky University

    In 1825, Darwin started to attend Edinburgh University, to become a doctor as, his brother,father and grandfather had,or were doctors. But, Charles did not like being a doctor and got hep from his friends and lecturers from university to learn about nature and animals. After some consideration, Darwin decided to move to Cambridge University to become a vicar. But like the doctor job, Darwin did not like this job, and decided his dream job was to be a naturalist, someone who studies nature.
  • Brilliant Beagle.

    Brilliant Beagle.
    The future scientist later got a letter from John.S.Henslow, asking him to be the naturalist for the ship, H.M.S Beagle; this was his dream job! After a lot of thinking, Darwin agreed to the invitation, and joined the ship on their, expected, two-year trip around the world. On the trip, Charles recorded information on rocks,plants and animals along the way. Although, he realised he gets seasick, and was sick nearly everyday on the trip.
  • Great Galápagos

    Great Galápagos
    In 1836, the ship docked on a small set of islands, now called the Galapagos Islands, that had never been discovered before. On these islands, there were so many animals and sea life that were still unknown to humanity, and Darwin noticed these animals. Some of these animals include: The Galapagos tortoise, the great frigate bird and the Galapagos penguin. These animals were amazing to Charles but, the things that fascinated him the most were a group of small birds,finches.
  • Later LIfe

    Later LIfe
    After the successful trip on the H.M.S Beagle, Darwin thought about the finches, but kept his ideas to himself for 16 whole years, because of the public's opinion. After getting a letter from Alfred Russel Wallace, he decided to publish his ideas in a book, called "The Origin Of Species". The book was about how animals and humans had evolved over time and how they had adapted to their surroundings and what was available to them. Charles Darwin passed away in 1882 from heart failure.
