Softbound's Timeline, Holocaust

  • Germans were excited for war.

    Some guy shot another guy and started a war. War was fun and honorable. Parting about war.
  • Germany surrenders to allies. WW1

    There's a treaty for WW1 that Germany had loss of land, military, and money.
  • German rebellion

    German like Adolf Hitler got mad at the treaty and wanted someone to blame. (Jews) Jews also fought in the (German side) war.
  • Hyper inflammation. . .

    price of bread in Germany. . . 2.37 to 399 billion. Pay money, less industry, and inflammation.
  • German overthrough

    Beerhall putsch. . . lead by Adolf when he is not popular. he is not successful and has been stopped by police and military.
  • Hitler on Trial

    He uses this trial by continuing to persuade them by blaming the Jews. He has 9 months of jail. (he is a guy giving speeches for a group a people) He uses jail time to planning for Germany.

    The president is a famous war hero named Hindenburg. He is very old. Two main partys in the gov. Nazis and communists.

    The capital building was set fire and Hither blames the communists.

  • The Enabling Act

    Hindenburg gave power to Hitler. He eliminated ALL of his rivals. There was an official boycott for Jews. He has also hired a bunch of thugs (SA) He also has the SS, the smart ones. (top level) He also many other units.
  • First concentration camps

    These were used to capture political rivals for labor and imprisonment. This was when the Nazis learned hot to build and rum concentration camps.

    He is very popular and convinced Hindenburg with great speech talent. He was supported by the Nazis. And eliminated his rivals (including Nazis)

    The Nuremberg laws segregated Jews. Moved them to ghettos and then concentration camps. Bunch of Germans ravaged and jumped Jews. First night of violence. (rest is served for notes) The final solution is killing all the Jews. “Trained” to camps. They didn’t know were they were going. . . weak people were lead to a gas chamber. The Nazis did not care about the conditions about the Jews in camp. They took shoes and glasses. The underground railroad and the resistance.

    • Warsaw ghetto, lasted about a month, smuggled weapons, SS arrested Jews after. Fighting with weapons (took weapons from guards and defensive position in buildings and tanks roll in) What do we have to lose???
  • The Laws. . .

    They identified all the Jews and taged them.
  • The night of broken glass. . .

    The Kristallnacht is the first night of violence and they ransacked Jewish buildings and jumped, arrested and killed Jews.

    Germany invades Poland and started WW2. This also creates the largest ghettos like Warsaw.
  • The Euthanasia program. . .

    The killing of Germans who are not deemed as worthy or unable to live because of a disability or mental illness. Over time, 80000 people died because of a disability. They were smoked out by exhaust of a engine.
  • The einsatzgruppen

    Four groups of the SS. They would round up Jews and place them in a graveyard and kill them by shooting. (they killed 33000 under 2 days)
  • The first killing centers. . .

    Was in central Poland. Trucks were used to carry gas into the small chamber in the back. Zyklon B an experimented gas and is now the preferred gas.
  • Wannsee Conference

    Nazi leaders agree to the "Final Solution" or the extermination of the Jews.

    They went into hiding with the van danns because Margot was going to sent to a concentration camp so they had to leave ASAP. They went int hiding in a workplace were there are workers and had to be silent.
  • Mr. Dussel. . .

    Mr frank is positive about another person moving and Mr. VD is negative. He is worried about the food. like give me a break and Mr. frank says that they stretch the food.
  • Camp rebellion

    They stole weapons and tried to escaped, few survived. Others in a different camp blew up a crematorium. 70 SS died, 200 prisoners died.
  • Death marches

    The Nazis forced prisoners out of camps and head towards other camps. If prisoners showed weakness, they were shot. (harsh conditions)
  • The liberation of the camps.

    After the Allies won, They liberated all the concentration camps through out Germany and freed all the undesirables and Jews. The problem was that they did not know were to go or what to do. It takes a long time to recover from torture and people are still affected.
  • Mr. Frank returns. . .

    Mr Frank returns and immediately starts crying because something bad happened to the rest of the familys. He find Anne diary, this is important because this shows the life of a person in hiding during the holocaust and is a significant piece of history.
