    Instant messaging platforms such as AOL Instant Messenger and Windows Live Messenger become increasingly popular. Wikipedia is launched in 2001. Many social media platforms that have remained are now thriving. This includes popular blogs, instant messaging servers, and various social networking platforms created in through 2000-2010 such as Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, and Twitter.
