People still wanted to skate so they made wheels out of clay and decks were homemade. A man by the name of Frank Nasworthy invented urethane wheels.

New Wheels

With the invention of new wheels,new possibilities emerge. gaps,ledges,ditches etc. are now skateable because the new wheels can grip the concrete. From this point on, skating will never be the same.

Boost in Popularity

In the spring of 1975 skateboarding took a boost and was very popular again. In Del Mar, California they were holding contest and a team called zephyr showed people what skateboarding was truly about.

VHS

Skateboarding continues to grow as the subculture that we all know it as. Another invention in the 1980’s played a big role for skateboarding, Which was the invention of the VHS.

Skateparks pop up everywhere and skateboarding video games lets every kid be a skater. The X-Games continues to become more and more popular.
