    On the 26 of jan 1788 the british set off to go to Australia for a social reason they had 11 ships 2 were war ships,3 were store ships and 6 were ships full of convicts.The captain of the first fleet was captain Aurther Phillip.They landed at Botney bay but the land was dry, wave were crashing hardly on the store, trees were crooked so, Aurther Phillip looked around and he found a place that had good strong trees soft calm sea nice soil he called it Sydney Cove.

The reasons for the colony being established is because In 1788 : political reason were that the English did not want the French to take the land away from them.

    In 1803 the britsh colonised Van Diemen's land. The indigenous people who lived in the area is the Palawa people. The reasons for this colony to be established is because the britsh wanted to stop the french for taking the land and the french didn't like the britsh and would try to probably kill the britsh. The people involved in establishingthe colony was :Lieutenant John Bowen at the place called Risdon Cave now know as Hobart.

The colony was penal. The reason for establishing the colony is that Sydney could not have any more convicts because the jails were full and the English needed another place to send convict who wererepeat offenders and

The reason for establishing the colony was to stop the french from claming the land, it was a political reason. The people who were involved in establishing this colony are James Stirling who was sent to find a place in the northen Australia.
