They are transplanted
They are lare enough to transplant. All of them are set on small mound for growing. -
Cared for
They had to be checked for tobacco worms. Also, they had to be watered if there was little rain! -
Harvsted
The entire stalk of tobacco is cut at the bottom then it is left to wilt on a stake. -
Are hung
The stakes are hung in barns to dry for about two months. -
Dry Stakes
The leaves were taken off the stakes and striped off the stalks. -
Rolling roads
They are bunndled into "hands." It is packed in barrels. The barrels are rolled down "rolling roads" to wharfs. -
Shipped
The tobacco is sent to England
