    Charlie Feehan wins the prime job. -Running for Squizzy Taylor. Runs against Norman, Jimmy and this other boy.

    Running away from Jimmy Barlow- "footy" pages 41-44
    While Charlie and Nostrils was playing footy at the park, Jimmy Barlow was coming running towards them. Charlie and Nostrils ran away as fast as their legs could carry them.

    Charlie goes to Squizzy Taylor's house and finds Dolly. Dolly gave Charlie a box with nice and shiny leather shoes. He fits them on and puts his fathers shoes in the box.

    Ma Moans and cries while Mr Peacock kissed ma. Ma had been acting weird since Mr Peacock came visiting.

    Mr Peacock threw objects at Mrs Feehan. She was cut and bruised all over her face. Mr Peacock had Amnesia and couldn't control himself. So after Charlie came back from his run that night, he went to grab his cricket bat and smashed it on Mr Peacocks head. Blood was all over the floor and Charlie went to tell Dolly and Squizzy what happened.

    Charlie decided to learn how to do Boxing with Mr Redmond. Charlie started off with skipping. Mr Redmond wanted Charlie to be the 'man of the house'

    Charlie and Norman's parents went to watch Norman's footy game. Norman's opposition in the footy game was Jimmy Barlow. He was strong and tough but when his dad gave Norman the 3 eff's, Jimmy couldn't catch up anymore and gave up.

    Charlie started his job from Squizzy and went to a cake shop to collect some money from a guy. When Chalie went there, he had noticed that there was Alice 'the girl of his dreams' behind the counter. He had to collect money from her father. Charlie went to ask Mr Cornwall but he said he didn't have the money.

    Mr and Mrs Redmond got Charlie a Gramaphone for his Boxing practise. But then Charlie had told Mr and Mrs Redmond that he had retired Boxing. But then he told them that the Gramaphone was a waste of money so he thought he'd take it home and play a song for his mum to use it to dance with his mum.

    Charlie and Norman went to do a liquor run (delivering liquor) for Squizzy. They had to goin the middle of the night. Norman was afraid of the dark that something might happen on the way.

    On the way back from delivering liquor to a guy who lives quite a mile away from Charlie, there Charlie and Norman found Jimmy Barlow ahead of them. Jimmy came closer and ended up having a fight with Norman. After the fight was over, Charlie took Norman to the hospital.

    Charlie and Mr Redmond went to catch the train to go to Ballarat for the Mile. When they got to Ballarat, they went to stay at Mrs Pickwick's house. Charlie went off for a run to practise for the mile race for the next day.

    Charlie had won the Ballarat mile race. He had won a few hundreds of dollars. He gave the trophie to Mr Redmond since he had helped Charlie practise for the mile.

    With the money that Charlie had won, he decided to spend it on a new stall that him and Norman are going to start. Their own Timber Company!
