    Nathaniel B. Wales ,the founder of Kelvinator, introduced a more practical, electrical home refrigerator but it still lacked todays technology like ice makers or a freezer chamber. Wales' brand Kelvinator later became known as Electolux one of the leading brands in refrigeration.

    Alfred Mellowes invents a self-contained refrigerator, with a compressor on the bottom of the cabinet and goes commercial with his new idea but is bought out shortly after by William C. Durant whom then started the well know company of Frigidaire

    Carl von Linde patents the first practical and compact refrigerator.
