    Introduction to the Alphabet
    The reason I add this to my timeline is because learning the alphabet is very important to begin learning to read. My mother introduced me early to get a head start before preschool.

    Introduction to reading
    This is important because my mother would sit with me everyday and have me read to her. She was very persistent and would have me go back it I got even one word wrong. I learned to read in kindergarten because of my mother.
  • 4th grade reading.

    4th grade reading.
    From 2nd grade to 4th grade, I did not enjoy reading. I loved looking at pictures books. This is an important event because I avoided reading as much as possible, even though I knew how to read well.
  • 6th grade Middle School

    6th grade Middle School
    It was not until middle school that I became very interested in reading. I started with an adventure novel, which I enjoyed very much.
  • 7th Grade reading

    Then in 7th grade, I picked up a random book in the library I found out I love reading romance novels.
  • 8th grade reading

    I loved reading so much at this point that I read all the romance novels in my school library by the end of 8th grade.
  • Twilight Era

    I was one of the individuals that loved the twilight books, I still do, the movies not so much. I started reading them my freshman to sophomore year.
  • Writing Proficiency

    Writing Proficiency
    I will never forget my writing proficiency. Although I loved reading, writing was a little struggle for me. I was afraid I was going to fail this proficiency, but then it was time to choose a topic and I remember one of the choices was my favorite book. Since I was reading the Twilight series, the book was at that moment my favorite book. I passed the reading proficiency.

    The Mortal Instruments series
    I started reading this series when I was a junior and invested on buying all the hard copy books because it was my favorite series of books! They have made a show about the books, but I have not dared to watch it because I do not want to ruin my favorite book series.
  • Reading to my Children

    Reading to my Children
    Although I have not picked up a novel since high school. I have read plenty of children's books to my children. Reading to them took me back to my childhood, my favorite books were always the Dr. Seuss books, so I made sure to buy them for my children.
