Day 1
The drilling of the well is complete. Under Texas statute and RRC rules, the completion of drilling starts the clock concerning deadlines relating to the files of electric logs. -
Day 90
On or before ninety (90) days following the completion of drilling, you must file either an electric log or a written request for confidentiality with the RRC. -
Year 1
The confidentiality period you may or may not have requested within the 90 days following completion of the drilling of the well has expired. Before expiration of the one-year confidentiality period, you are permitted to make another written request with the RRC to extend the confidentiality of your electric log for an additional 2-year period. -
Year 3
The second confidentiality period for non-underwater wells expires. For underwater well, you may make a written request to the RRC for a third confidentiality period that lasts another 2 years. This request must be filed with the RRC before the expiration of the second confidentiality period. -
3 Years and 1 Month
For all non-underwater wells, this is the absolute end to all confidentiality periods. You must file an electric log 30 days after the expiration of the second confidentiality period. -
Year 5
This is the end of the third and final confidentiality period for underwater wells. An electric log must be filed with the RRC 30 days after the expiration of this period. -
Year 5 and 1 Month
For underwater wells that received the third confidentiality period, an electic log must be filed within 30 days following the expiration of the final confidentiality period.
