Conflict over Peggy Eaton caused a split in Jackson's family and cabinet. Many cabinet members including Eaton and Van Buren resigned -
Jackson Veto's Bank Recharter
Jackson favored species (gold, silver, and other precious metals).
He saw the bank as a monopoly and ordered that land purchased from the government to only be purchased in species. Saw Nicholas Biddle, the bank's president, as a threat accusing him of misusing the banks funds to support Henry Clay. -
New Ideology
Created a new ideology away from the old aristrocratic ideas. Estabilished more people to the west and reallocated land and did many things other presidents didn't do,
