Avicenna, born Abu ‘Ali al-Husayn ibn Sina. (980-1037)
A major contribution made by Avicenna was the Kitāb al-shifāʾ (“The Book of Healing”) or The Book of the Cure, which was a philosophical and scientific encyclopedia.
