    Shortly after arriving in the Eternal City Galen's techniques contradicted that of the Roman's, which lead to the doctors in Rome being described as being more interested in money than healing and truth.

    170 A.D.: Return to Rome

    While in the Eternal City, Galen was hired to become the physician for the son of Marcus Aurelius, Commodus.

    The exact death date of Galen is uncertain, although it is estimated that he died in 216 A.D at the age of 86 or 87.

    Overall Galen was a great philosopher who expanded upon the knowledge of other's such as; Hippocrates, Herophilos, Celsus, Alcmena, Praxagoras,Erasistratus, and Asclepiades. Even though he built upon other philosopher's he had many of his own discover's such as discovering 7 of the 12 cranial nerves and diagnosing psychological disturbances.
