    At the constitutional convention there were federalist and anti-federalist. The federalist were a party of rich, well-born.
  • Anti-Federalist

    At the constitutional convention there were Federalist and anti-federalist. The anti-federalist were more sympathetic to the common man.
  • Democratic Republicans

    The Democratic Republicans were unopposed until the mid 1820s.
    They stood for basically just getting the country used to the government
  • Jacksonian Democrats

    In 1828 Andrew Jackson's Democratic party came to power. Led to make/improve the rights of the common man.
  • The party of Lincolns Republicans

    Also known as the National Union Party, which took place before the civil war and they stood against slavery.
  • Roosevelt Democrats

    He stood for the working man and fought against big businesses.
  • Modern Republicans

    The modern republicans stand for a more conservative they favor lower taxes and less spending on social programs.
  • Modern Democrats

    The democratic party today stands for equality of all. They also believe in equal opportunity as well. Equal education for all as well
