    Oberlin College was the first college to begin admitting women

    The National Woman Suffrage Association was made, campaigning for a constitutional amendment to give women the right to vote. They're different from the AWSA because they didn't try to win the idea over to each all state and instead just went for the amendment.
  • Wyoming

    Wyoming becomes the first state to allow women to vote.

    At this time, 20% of all college students were women.
  • Illegal tactic

    In 1872, Susan B. Anthony proceeded to protest with her sisters by voting. After two weeks, they were arrested for "knowingly, wrongfully and unlawfully" voting for someone.
  • Court rules

    The supreme court ruled that even though women were citizens, that citizenship did not give them the right to vote.
  • NACW

    The National Association of Colored Women was made, featuring some of the figures like Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Margaret Murray Washington and Harriot Tubman. African American women found out that they weren't wanted in most other groups, so they made their own group.
  • American Medical Association

    The American Medical Association admits women members
  • Amendment fixed

    The 19th amendment is ratified, guaranteeing women the right to vote.
  • Amendment thrown away

    The eighteenth amendment, also known on the one denying alcohol the right to be sold, was repealed.
