  • Preganncy / Lactation

    Preganncy / Lactation
    Some foods a mother should avoid while pregnant include:
    soft cheeses such as Camembert, Roquefort, feta, and Gorgonzola. also she should avoid spicy foods., raw or uncooked foods, hot dogs, lunch meat, unpasturized dairy.
    Some good nutrients a pregnant woman needs to intake:
    iron, folate, protain, calcium, limit added sugars and solid fats.
  • Infancy

    Infancy
    Foods to avoid giving your infants:
    egg whites, peanut butter, shellfish, crustaceans, and dairy special nutritional needs:
    Infants should only consume formula or breast milk until they are of about 6 months of age to which they can be introduced to cereal and juice.
  • Toddler

    Toddler
    Some foods that should be avoided when feeding a toddler are food such as: slippery foods ( whole grapes, large pieces of meat, hot dogs, candy and cough drops) , hard foods ( nuts, seeds , popcorn, chips, pretzels, raw carrots and rasins), also things that are sticky such as peanut butter and marshmallows
    At this point the child is stating to transiton into regular solid foods and should start to consume a balanced diet.
  • Preschool

    At this point when the child is growing there are still things that they should not consume such as: slippery foods, samll hard foods, and sticky foods.
    The child should consume a well balanced diet that includes : grains, dairy, vegetables, fruits, milk, and meat
  • School-Aged

    Some foods that should be avooided for a school-aged child are snacks that are high in added sugars and that are unhealthy.
    Special Nutrional Needs for a school-aged child include a balanced diet.
    A helpful hint for parents with children this age is not to use food as a punishment or reward.
  • Teen-aged

    Teens should avoid consuming sugary cereals, high-sugar fruit and soda drinks, full fat cheese and milk, stewed or jellied fruits, cheesy creamy sauces,or anything fried
    Teenagers need extra calcium and iron
  • Adult

    Adult
    For an adult you should avoid foods that are high in fats and sodium
    Adults should consume foods such as reduced-fat milk, low-salt foods, breads and grains (whole), vegetables and an adequate amount of water.
  • Older Adults

    Older Adults
    Older Adults should avoid raw eggs, soft cheeses, unpasturized milk, raw or rare hamburger and things like sushi
    Older people should also consume fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products, meat , fish and maintain a balanced diet
