in 1945 Noam Chmosky would begin his time at the University of Pennsylvania. Chomsky would earn his Bachelor's degree in linguistics in 1949, his Master's in 1951, and his Doctorate in 1955. -
Marriage
Chomsky would marry his childhood friend Carol Schatz, and educational specialist. They would ultimately spend 59 years together, having three children, before she passed away from cancer in 2008. -
Begins work with MIT
Following his receipt of his Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, Chomsky began working as a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the department of Linguistics and Philosophy. -
Linguist Theory
Noam Chomsky would develop his Linguist theory that essentially posed the idea that humans had the innate ability to recognize and understand general grammar rules present throughout most world languages. -
Retirement
Chomsky would retire as a professor from the Massachusetts Institute of technology in 2005. Chomsky's tenure with the institute totaled 55 years. -
Awards
Chomsky would recieve numerous awards following his retirement from MIT. These include an honorary fellowship at the Literary and Historical Society. In 2008 he would be awarded an Honorary Doctor’s degree from Uppsala University. Addiontinally, he was made an honorary member of the International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters in 2009. He still an active member of this board presently.
