    Mother Letiza and father Carlo were revolutionaries against the French. Napoleon is named Nabullione after a dead relative. Father takes up government job and gets Napoleon into a military school in 1778. Later joins the Ecole Militare in 1784. Shows military mastermind in snowball fights, but he is very antisocial.

    Napoleonic Code: the first modern organized body of law governing France.
    Infantry: part of the army that deploys on foot.
    Coalition: a truce with multiple factions or faction.
    Republic: a form of government where citizens choose their leaders.

    ME- French Revolution and unstable politics
    The French Revolution starts while Napoleon was in artillery school, a mob storms a prison which leads to the French Revolution. Napoleon returns to. Corsica to lead an uprising, but the Corsica people go against him and chase Napoleon and his family back to France. In 1790 the queen and king are put to death by guillotine. Royalists soon fled from the new republic as they supported the monarchy. The Directory is formed as France becomes a republic.

    Without the French Revolution there would have been no republic as the government was a monarchy without the forceful removal of the queen and king there would be no republic and no Directory. If civil war had no occurred the government wouldn't have changed and France would have still been a monarchy. To sum up the cause was the French Revolution as without France would still be a monarchy. The effect is France becoming a republic due to the French Revolution as they overthrew the government.

    As France became the first republic in the world many monarchies felt threatened as they would lose power just as the monarchs in France did. A coalition was formed to crush the republic, but Napoleon stood firm. The French Revolution was the turning point. This change in government lead to the war of Europe and the later conquest of Napoleon. If Napoleon didn't lead the French Revolution republics may have never come leading to history and the world being very different.

    A coalition is formed against the new republic and France declares war on Austria for having royalists being hidden there, but Austria is in a coalition with most countries in Europe. The coalition enters France, but are pushed out and retreat. Napoleon rises up in the ranks later to general and first general to use advanced war tactics. Destroys Italy and Austria while taking Prussia a well in 1796. Later offensive on Egypt fails, but teaches Napoleon a valuable lesson. war ends in 1800.

    Napoleon was power hungry he was an egoist and he was ruthless. He forcefully overthrew the Directory and framed them for attempting to kill him. Then he started a crusade of Europe and lead to many deaths. In the Egyptian offensive he watched as his man die and fled without them he then states that as on of the most wonderful moments of his life. After being exiled he refused to give up and let his pride fall his ego lead to many deaths.

    When Napoleon's conquest to Egypt started all he wanted was to win, but it lead to the discovery of the Rosetta Stone. If Napoleon didn't go to fight in Egypt we may have never understood hieroglyphics. Napoleon lead an offensive against Britain, but his men found the Rosetta Stone. As an effect we now understand hieroglyphics.

    Napoleon became king in 1800 as he thought the republic was failing. He stormed in and framed the directory for attacking him. Once emperor Napoleon rebuilt his relationship with the Catholic Church. He defeated Prussia in 1806 and made connections with the Austrian empire as he married Austria's princess then his son was born in 1810. He wanted to end Britain, but a blockade failed and he attcked all those who failed him. He was overrun and exiled to Elba in 1814.

    As Napoleon started to invade Russia he was winning, but the Russians retreated because they knew Napoleon wasn't ready for the winter. Many French soldiers died, Russia soon counter attcked and the coalition led Napoleon to the battle of Nations in 1814. Napoleon was exiled to Elba, but he escaped and rallied soldiers to the battle of Waterloo in 1815. After his defeat he was exiled to St. Helena in 1815. He then died in 1821 of starvation as he was convinced he was being poisoned.

    Napoleon's troops discover the Rosetta Stone during the Egyptian offensive which failed. They did discover the translation of hieroglyphics to modern day Egyptian and Greek. This would forever change how we understood hieroglyphs. Without Napoleon's fateful conquest we may have never understood hieroglyphics. We know a lot less about Egyptian history.
