My first birthday
My name's Gabriel Gomez, yeah, that beautiful baby there is me. My father was divorced and married my mother, She was wearing a purple dress. I was the first born in my fimily. In this picture my mother was pregnant with my sister. The three girls around my parents were my sisters (My father's daughter from his first marriage) and the old lady was my grandmother (my father's mother) That's the house we lived for about 11 years. -
Living dangerously
My grandfather (on my mother's side) turned years on January 1st. We celebrated his birthday until he died at the age of 85. Every year all my mother's relatives gathered at his house and have a big reunion. we would break piñatas, we would eat left over from new year's eve, an the best, we fired crackers. I started firing cracker at the age of 4. I stopped for a year after one of them exploded in my hand, but the next year i I returned to the game. -
What I remember about music
I started to listen to "Pablito Ruiz" on the radio "oh, mama. Ella me ha besado" was the best song. -
Elementary School
I started elementary school in 1988 and ended it in 5 years. My parents were both teachers, so they were really involved in my education. By the time I finished kinder garten I could read clearly and solve math problems from a higher grade, so after an evaluation that consisted in a few math problems (2 digits multiplication) a few readings and a dictation I started on second grade. Actually they agreed to send me to the third grade but my mother said I was too little to be in that grade. -
8 years later
This is me again on my 8th birthday. I was wearing a grey shirt and trousers, Remember my first birthday my mother was pregnant? a year later my sister was born and 4 years after that, my brother. My sister wore a flower dress that day and my brother a shirt and shorts. My parents named them Griselda and Gustavo. My mother planned to name us With the same initial, "G". our family name is Gomez Gomez. -
Soap operas
Whe i was a little boy I would watch what my mother used to watch. One the first opera I watched was "Carrusel de las Américas" but I don't remember anything about that. I remember "El abuelo y yo" this was the first time I had a major crush on someone. I fell in lovo like an idiot with Ludwika Paleta. She was the most beautiful girl on the planet back in the nineties. I hated Diego Luna. -
Movies
These were some of the movies I watched in video. Batman was the first super heroe I watched on the big screen. A lot of them changed my vision of the world. -
The seventh art an important part in my life.
I don't remember the first movie I saw. When I was a child. My family and I did not have a video recorder, we were not poor but that was a luxury my parants either could not nor would affort. When my parents decided to finally buy one, the video cassetes looked like this. -
The movie theater
The first movie I watched on the theater was STARGATE. the special effects were awesome. A neighbour invited me to the movies because his parents would not allow him to go alone. I could not be over 14.That movie had such an impact in my life that from that day on I became a movie goer. I have spent over 300 thousand pesos from that day. -
My major
I graduated from the university in 2007. When I was in college I watched on the news the terrorist attack 9/11. It was one of the greatest tragedies I have experienced in my life. -
My first born
Before I graduated from university, my girlfriend and I got pregnant. I had a beautiful baby boy. She named him Irvin and I gave him my middle name "Arturo". He was registered Irvin Arturo. -
My Precious.
My precious, no, not that ring thing from "Lord of the rings". This is my most precious accident because I did not want to have another baby. She stole my heart from the moment she opened her eyes. This is Evelyn on her first birthday. I got really drunk that day and shaved her hair, very carefully, though. Her mother believed she would grow curly hair if I did that but never happened. Her hair grew straighter than before. I shaved her twice more because I loved seeing her like in this picture. -
Vacations
This is me on a ferry trip to Isla Mujeres. I was dancing "caballo de rodeo" my friends and I were drinking. -
