My Science Timeline

  • Period: to

    Elementary Science

Throughout elementary I always thought of science as fun. We would always do a fun project and experiments. There was even a club after school that I was part of for a couple of years that did "mad science"
  • Science Fair Project

I created a science fair project focused around popcorn. I loved this because I feel like it showed me that science had to do with a lot more things than I thought it did.
  • Brother

One person who impacted my love of science was my little brother. I was often jealous of how much he loved science. He had such an interest in learning about how the world worked and all the different aspects of science, especially biology. I wanted to be more like him.
  • Period: to

    7th grade science

I loved science in 7th grade. My teacher was interesting and engaging. I loved learning about the body, genetics, cells and even when we got to dissect a pig! I thought it was all so interesting and I found out I loved Biology!
  • Period: to

    8th Grade Science

This was the first time that science was actually hard. I loved my teacher but I really struggled with the mathematics behind chemistry and Physics. I found I wasn't as interested in the material. I worked really hard to be successful. I came in every morning an hour before school started to work with my teacher to better understand the subjects. I learned to like chemistry and physics more as the year went on, mostly because my teacher helped me see why he was so passionate about it.
  • Animals and Humans

One thing I was always interested in were animals and how we as humans work. I loved reading about them. I loved going to the zoo and watching animals and how they moved. Learning about how our bodies worked was always interesting to me at doctor appointments and just through books I would find.
  • My Crooked Pinky

My crooked pinkies always made me interested in genetics. It was something different about me. It made me interested in how that was possible.
  • Period: to

    9th Grade Science

I learned to love biology even more this year! I had the same teacher as 7th grade and she just taught me how truly interesting it all is. I still am fascinated about how the human body works because of her.
  • Period: to

    10th Grade Chemistry

This is probably the year of science I remember the least about. It wasn't super impactful and I feel like most of the time it was boring.
  • Mom and Dad

My mom and Dad would always work to answer my questions. Whenever I was confused about something or wanted to know the answer to a question they would research for the answer if they didnt already know it.
  • Period: to

    AP Environmental Science

I loved this class because I felt like for the first time I really learned to love the environment and the world we live in. I became more interested in how to take care of our world and what I could personally do to help save it.
  • Period: to

    College Science

When I got to college I just took the general classes for science. I suffered through Biology and Physical science. For the first time I wasnt very interested in Biology because my teacher was weird and often got so sidetracked I didnt feel like I was learning anything. I was happy when the classes were over. I had decided I just didnt have a talent for science and that was ok.
  • Smart Phone

I learned to like science more in the past couple years since I got a smart phone. It feels like all the answers to my questions are right at my finger tips. If I am ever wondering anything I can just simply look it up.
  • This Class

This class makes me excited to learn about science again. I feel like I need to cultivate and grow my love for science so I can help my students feel passionate about it.
