    Looking back at my Preliminary Task I can clearly see that I have learnt a lot more about the codes and conventions of a magazine such as a logo, subheadings, quotes and mastheads.

    After examining the codes and conventions of a variety of current music magazines I studied the history of music magazines which helped me decide what information would be appropriate to include in my own.

    I researched different oligapolies to find out what company would be suitable for owning my music magazine
  • Planning the layout

    After looking at the various codes and conventions of music magazine I decided on a suitable layout for my front cover, contents page and double page spread

    I searched multiple types of shots that are on the coverof music magazines such as close ups, medium close ups, mid-shots and long shots and decided on having a mid shot for my magazine.

    I had originally planned to create a music magazine from the indie genre but changed it to the reggae genre as I felt there was a gap in the market for this type of music magazine.

    I then researched images more specific to the reggae genre which is what I decided for the genre of my magazine.This helped me because I could envision what the model for my magazine would wear by using inspiration from current reggae magazines.
