I was born
I was brought into this world on April 18th, 2002, I was born in NYU hospital in Midtown Manhattan at 1:05 PM. My initial due date was August 15th of this year but I decided to come out early and surprise everyone. Because of my early arrival I was born premature, my lungs were underdeveloped and it was hard for me to breath. Because of this I was put in an incubator like a little chicken, and I stayed in there for two weeks until I was developed. Because of this my family sees me as strong. -
Uh oh
At this time I had just turned two and my parents threw me a party in the basement of the apartment building we were living in at the time. The party was Strawberry Shortcake themed and from what I recall and what my parents tell me I had a really good time. But this picture was taken right before I stuck both of my hands into the cake and ruined it. This was one of the first mistakes I ever made as a child. -
ouch!
In this photo I was 2 years old and it was late summer, take in our apartment in Yonkers, New York. According to my parents, I was running around my apartment and fell and I was really upset, this was a failure in my eyes because I thought that I couldn't do anything right. My mom took this picture as soon as I fell onto the ground and I think this is something that all babies do but for me I was left feeling like I'd given up. -
oh no!
Now this birthday party was really something to remember. I had just turned three years old and this was just another house party but what I did after this photo was taken was just so embarrassing. I guess I had a really big attraction to cake because I squished my face into the cake and You would think that after my 2nd birthday my parents would know to not put me next to the cake for pictures but I guess not. To this day I am still embarrassed that I did that. -
im scared
On this summer night, my mom and dad took me to Madison Square Garden to see my favorite people ever, The Wiggles. I was in absolute love with the wiggles, I had t shirts, toys, and even a binkie that was wiggles themed. So back to the picture the red wiggle, I forget his name but he was walking up to me and as you can see I was not fond of that. My dad took this picture of me right before the Red wiggle said hello to me and I bursted in tears. I was so scared, I was glad I had my mom with me. -
Preschool Graduation!
On this day I had my first graduation, from Parc Preschool, I was so proud of myself because of this big accomplishment. When I first walked onto the stage I tripped and fell on my face which is also very memorable as well. On this day my mom, dad, aunt, and newborn baby brother came to watch me get my diploma and this day was a very happy day for me and my whole family. -
my first cheerleading season!
In the fall of fourth grade since I was a lazy child my mom decided to put me on the cheerleading team, my first and last season. I actually had a lot of fun being on the team, I was a flyer which meant that the girls would throw me up in the air and I think this was another big achievement in my life because I felt like I was part of something great and I really enjoyed myself during this time, I also made a lot of friends as well. -
Getting my first certificate of recognition
During 8th grade I was doing really well academically. I was getting honor roll and In this photo I just received my first certificate of recognition and my parents were there to watch me recieve it and they were so proud of me, I was also really proud of myself and realized that when you put a lot of hard work and effort into something you will get good results out of it. -
a deep depression
During this time my life really took a turn for the worst. My first best friend, my old man, my dog Zion passed away. This was the first major loss that I experienced in my life and I was truly heart broken, I hated coming home everyday and not see him greet me at the door, or not have him follow me around the house. This was a very hard time for me. -
a new member of my family!
I will never ever forget this day. At around 11 AM my mom and dad told us to get ready because we were picking up my aunt from the airport. So we got ready and made our way to Laguardia Airport in Queens. We head inside the terminal and my dad tells us that he has to use the bathroom, then 10 minutes later my dad comes back with a small pink kennel and says "welcome our new member of our family". we had gotten a 3 month old french Bulldog we decided to name Zeus. I so was surprised and happy. -
running my first 600 meter race!
I had been running for about 3 years at this time and this was the championship meet at the NY Armory in manhattan. On our way to the meet my coach told me "hey emely, you're running the 600m today" and i felt my stomach drop. I had never ran this event before and i was so nervous. Then when we were at the meet the race was going to be called soon so I put on my racing flats and headed to the starting line. I ran the race and after i got 3rd place. This was a great time and i was so proud. -
it doesn't fit?!
This picture was taken right before the start of my sweet 16 and my court and I had just gotten out of the limo and my cousin hands me my corsage and i put it on and the worst thing happened, the cosage was too big on me. If you haven't noticed Im a really small person and i have freakishly small wrists and so the corsage did not fit and i panicked, I was already nervous for the whole party and my candles and this could not happen at a worse time.
