My Life Timeline

  • Birth

    Birth
The event that made every other possible. I was the 2nd child, after my sister, making for a family of four with my mother and father. My parents raised me with an open mind. The dealt with my curiosity wonderfully and encouraged me to learn an explore. They taught me how to view the balance in all things whether they meant to or not. I love my family very much.

    Overview of my life

Overall, it is very difficult to attribute traits of my personality or self to individual events. I, along with everyone else am slowly molded by the things that happen to me, and my words are a mere simulacrum of my being. A few things can be seen from this overview: I love living beings. I believe all life is precious and reducing suffering is my top priority in life. I think the ability to feel emotions is invaluable and allowing for people to feel happiness is the best part of life.
  • Learned to read!

    Learned to read!
Reading has been a primary way of gathering information for me my entire life! The ability to read is a true blessing and I am glad I was taught how to read at such a young age! I have been interested in reading about different animals, places, religions, and philosophies and I attribute that to crafting my view on the world today. (The time is an estimate, not exact, since learning to read is a process.)
  • Trip to Canada!

    Trip to Canada!
My direct family and I took a trip to Canada! This was the first and only time I have ever visited Canada and I remember parts of it to this day! I remember distinctly the seals, elk, and other wildlife distinctly. I also remember a giant Lobster statue, lobster stuffed animal, and lobster candies. There were a lot of Lobster themed things there, I don't know why. I also remember playing around in a suburban playground with some french children and having a grand time despite no common language.
  • Began Diving

    Began Diving
I was fortunate to have been born into a family that loves Scuba diving so I was easily able to get certified. This activity furthered my love for animals. I have dived for nearly ten years now and have seen the impacts of mankind on our ocean ecosystems. I am now hyper aware of the timer we are functioning under to due to tangible things I have seen on my travels and dives. Our oceans are very fragile and humankind is not gentle. Diving has made me a more ethical human.
  • I went Vegetarian

    I went Vegetarian
I have always been very sensitive to the bad things I do and suffering I create. I feel guilt acutely and have trouble allowing myself to continue doing things that harm others once I become aware that I am doing them. I also have had a love for animals my entire life and finally made the decision to stop eating them. I stopped eating meat cold turkey while on vacation with my family after visiting a fish market in North Carolina and have not eaten it since.
  • Coast Hiking with my Father

    Coast Hiking with my Father
My father and I took a trip to the west and backpacked the coast of Oregon for a week! The experience was surreal. We saw whales, eagles, and seals among other things as we hiked. We didn't see any other people for our whole excursion and It was extremely peaceful. The sunset against the water was beautiful and very memorable. The hike weaved in and out of forest and beach. We also had to navigate the tides which was a new idea to me and I learned a lot. A trip I will never forget.
  • Started playing Tennis

    Started playing Tennis
I have never really enjoyed sports that much because I have trouble seeing the purpose of them and am always thinking about the idea that I am developing no true skills in the back of my mind. That being said I did play tennis for a significant chunk of time. I really enjoyed just running around with my friends and making jokes and exercising. I had a wonderful time doing it and I learned how to interact and get along with people on a new level. It was a fun experience.
