The Day I was Born
The day I was born was quite funny and unexpected. My dad worked driving a schoolbus. He had just finished dropping of the students at the school when he got a call from my mom. He had to rush back home in the school bus to take my mom to the hospital. My mom was hopping up and down in the schoolbus seat. My dad unfortunatley had to go back to return the school bus. When he came back I was already in my mom's arms. -

New Brother!
I was glad I had a brother, because it was just me. All I wanted to do was play and carry him. The problem was that I was just 4. I once tried carrying him while my parents weren't watching and accidently dropped him. He chipped a tooth but fortunately nothing major happened. Although we fight sometimes, like any brother and sister, he finds the way to make me laugh, and we get over it within the second. It's just us two, so we count on each other a lot. -
Emergency!
Around the time my brother was 5 he had an accident. He cut his ear in half from the middle down, while he and I were playing kickball in the house. The funny thing was that we were not playing with a ball but a stuffed animal. He was running and rolled over. The window pain cut his ear. I was so scared for him. I was crying more than him. I didn't know what was going to happen, I thought of all the worst situations. -
Sad Day
When the recession hit in 2008, we got hit pretty hard. Out of the 800 people who got laid in her department, she was also included. Her check was a major part of financing our family. We couldn't understand how such hard workers could lose their jobs. -
5th Grade
I consider 5th grade to be my best year. I was involved in so many things. I was in a dance program, my friends and I hosted our own american idol for our class. We had to do a project for earth day, and I got to run around in the halls with my friends, while the rest of the class was in class. Pulled an aprils fools prank on our teacher, was in band, and cheerleading. Had the best teachers and friends, Plus, the last day of school was my birthday and my desk was filled with gifts from them. -
Mom's Job
After 2 years from not working, my mom got her job back. She was able to get the same job she was in, with the help of her co-worker (Debbie), who was also her supervisor. We say that Debbie is her gardian angel. -
Dad Came Home
My dad is a singer, so he has to go to other cities to sell his CD. He had been gone for about 2 weeks but it felt like two months. He and I are so close that I missed him. I was in algebra class when I got called that I was going home. I thought it was my mom because my dad was supposed to be home a few days later. When I finally left the class my dad was waiting for me. I hugged him and started crying. Now he leaves for only a day because of me, but it's better than 2 weeks. -
New High School
Starting high school was so exciting. At first I thought I was going to a public high school. Then my dad and I started looking at online high schools. I decided to try something new and ended up liking it. I have been with Primavera for 3 years and am graduating next year. My dad works from home, so for the past 3 years we have been closer than ever. -
15th Birthday
In my culture when a girl turns 15 they do something called a quinceanera. It's a big party to celebrate that your daughter has now become a woman. Well, my family isn't traditional. You spend from 2-10 thousand dollars for a party that's going to last for a night. When the party is over everyone ends up criticizing the party. How was the dress, the food, the music? We decided to do something different and went to Knotts Berry Farm and Sunsplash for 3 days. We spent less money and had more fun. -
College Classes
With Primavera I was able to take college classes while still in high school. I am able to set a schedule so that I can do both. I'm now able to graduate ASU earlier than expected. I will now also start my career earlier.
