My Life

  • Birth

    Calgary, Alberta
  • Moved To Castleridge

    Moved To Castleridge
    New Daycare
  • Moved to Whitehorn

Age 5, This was the start of the many different schools i had to go to because we had to move so often. Moving a lot helped me experience many different cultures in different neighbourhoods as well as in the schools i went to.
  • Travelling

    Travelling
My mom and brothers and i got to travel across canada and the US to visit family that lived in almost every province. I loved being able to see my extended family and friends and visit all the neat places. It helped me see the different ways people live and to be open to different cultures and ways of living, as we experienced a lot and stayed with a lot of extended family whom i had never met before.
  • Moved to Abbydale

My Parents were going through a rough patch, so we moved in with my grandma in Abbydale. It was hard because i had to change schools again and move to a different community and make new friends. I went to a christian school in Abbydale which was an adjustment as I did not grow up with religion and then was put into a religious school where most kids were familiar with the routine and most of the kids went the school since kindergarten so i felt out of place.
  • Abuse

This was the first time i was sexually abused by a family member which led to a lot of issues between my parents, i don't remember a ton other then going to the police office for interviews and the hospital. I remember getting a stuffed dog at the police station which was very helpful as a child to be able to talk about what happened. This was the only incident that anyone knew about even though it happened for years after when the family member came out to visit in BC.
  • Moved to British Columbia

This was a nerve wracking time as i had to leave all my family and my dad and moved from Calgary to BC. When we first got there we lived in Winfield with my moms friend for the summer until she could find a house for us to live in. I was always very shy when i am in a new surrounding and don't know people so it was hard for me to approach people to make new friends, as soon as i become familiar with someone i am a social butterfly although i am still working on being able to trust people
  • Parents got divorced

This was hard for me as i did not understand what it meant and why my mom was upset about it. It wasn't until my mom told me we were moving to BC when i got really upset because i had to leave all my family and friends that i had finally made in the new house and school.
  • New school in BC

We found a place to live in Kelowna and moved, i went to a new school called Pearson elementary and was trying to settle in to a new town and province as well as a new school.
  • Moving to Glenmore/ New School

My grandma decided to move out to BC with us so we had to move again. We moved to Glenmore which was 20 minutes from our old house. I had to go to a new school and make new friends again. We lived on an orchard and had to walk 3km to school as my mom worked full time.
  • Moms boyfriend and his kids moved in

My mom started dating a guy when we got to BC and him and his kids moved in. I did not like him nor did any of my family members. He treated myself and brothers terrible as well as my mom. She ended up dating him for 8 years until he cheated on her and they broke up.
  • Dance Class

I got to start dance class again (I did dance in Calgary) I was very excited as it was something i loved to do and was passionate about it. I did Jazz, Tap, and Ballet. I found dance a good way to be able to express myself and figure out my strengths and weaknesses
  • Moved to Peachland

My moms boyfriend and his kids moved out, she could not afford the house on her own. We moved to Peachland into a townhouse which was in a complex with lots of kids, my new elementary school was across the street which was so nice.I made lots of friends in the complex. I finished my last years of elementary school here which was nice and stayed in the house for 7 years and got to go to middle school with my friends.
  • Middle School

Middle school was an exciting but nerve wracking time, I'm sure like most people.
  • Middle school/Online School

I got bullied quite a bit through my first two years of middle school, which was very difficult for me to deal with. I didn't want to go to school anymore. My mom allowed me to do online school for my last year of school (Grade 9) I was quite happier doing it although i did find myself not leaving the house as much other then dance and ended up going into a depression
  • Highschool

I decided to go back to school for grade 10, i had a lot of anxiety returning to school and found it to much. In second semester of grade 10 i went back to online school to finish my grade 10 year.
  • Grade 11

I went back to high school for grade 11 as i wanted to try once more to be able to be with my friends, grade 11 was a lot better and i enjoyed it and was looking forward for grade 12 and to be done high school.
  • Eating disorder

    Eating disorder
In highschool i developed an eating disorder which also contributed to my depression. Im not sure exactly the date it all started but it was around grade 11 when i was at my dads who was very verbally abusive. I managed to get myself better after a year but i struggled a lot and i still do. I had lost around 30lbs in a month and wouldn't eat. i had to do out patient services and got told if didn't gain weight i would be involuntarily admitted.
  • Getting a dog

    Getting a dog
This was such a big thing to me as i had begged my mom for so long. My dog has helped me through so much mentally and has been great therapy for me. Without her i don't think i would of finished high school and pushed through my depression. She helped evaluate what i stand for.
  • Grade 12

    Grade 12
In grade 12 i fell into a bigger depression and my anxiety was at it's limit. I stopped going to school and would skip a lot of my classes, i had 2 very supportive teachers and i think without them i wouldn't of graduated.
  • Mexico

    Mexico
I surprised my mom with a trip to mexico for her birthday, it was one of the best trips and we got to bond a lot throughout the trip.
  • College

    College
After high school i did a year of business and found out that was not for me. (to much math) I took a semester off and then went into health care and graduated with a certificate as a registered health care aide
  • Health Care Aide

I have worked a year now as a health care aide, which i absolutely love. i worked in dementia units as well as assisted living. Currently i work with a lady who has M.S, we get along great and have a lot in common
  • Moving to Edmonton

    Moving to Edmonton
Ever since i moved to B.C i always wanted to come back to kelowna but never had an opportunity to. I have lots of cousins and aunts and uncles here who i would of loved to been able to know better. I finally decided to move out here and take Social Work which has been the best decision ever, i am so happy to be able to watch all my cousins grow up and be apart of their lives as my older cousins were with mine when i lived in calgary.
