My Journey

  • Broken bones

    Broken bones
In less than one year I managed to break both my foot and my arm. Both of them happened on the school grounds and put me in casts for about 5 months. After my foot casts was removed I broke my arm 2 months later. Breaking my arm changed my whole life because I was a lefty and I had to learn how to do things with my right hand. Both of these breaks made me a lot more cautious of what decisions I make because especially being older, because breaking a bone could affect my life in a terrible way.
  • Death

    Death
This was the first experience with this sort of thing for me. My grandmother had just past away at such a young age and I didn't know how to handle it. At first, I really didn't know what was happening and being a kid put me in a state of denial that she was actually gone. The moment that it finally clicked in was devastating. Outside of my immediate family, she was the closest to me and losing her was an awful feeling. I had no idea how to cope with all this pain, anger, and sadness inside of me.
  • First time

    First time
Walking to the entrance of the amusement park was such an exciting moment. It was the first time that I was going to go on a rollercoaster. The first one that I would be going on is kingda ka. Once I saw the coaster, I started to freak out. Getting shot 120 mph and going over 456 feet was terrifying. I thought that we were going to fly off the tracks. This was one of the worst experiences in my life and actually caused mke to develop a fear of heights and never really go on huge coasters again.
  • Concussion

    Concussion
The beginning of July, I was playing for my travel baseball team during a double header. We were winning and I was up to bat. I do not remember every single detail of what happened after this but, during the at bat I was hit in the face with the ball. I remember certain details like leaving the game to go to the hospital and the doctors telling me that I had a concussion and was lucky it wasn't worse. They said I could have broken my cheek bones and have gotten a worse concussion than I had got.
  • Cooperstown

    Cooperstown
Going to cooperstown was first time ever traveling with a baseball team and staying in a room with just them. That whole week was definitely one of the best times I ever had, I got to play baseball and hang out with my friends while doing it. A lot of memories was created during this week including me hitting my first and second home run. Even though spending time with my team was fun, I still felt lonely being away from my family and it was the first time I felt a strange occuring inside of me.
  • Funzone

    Funzone
In the beginning of the spring I started my job with a company called Funzone. It is a party rental company that will set up bounce houses, or tents, tables, and chairs. This was a very labor demanding job and I soon realized how heavy the bounce houses were. Throughout the course of the spring, summer, and early fall, this job never seemed to amaze me. Whether it be getting new and heavier bounce houses or how many kids would show up at a street fair just to go play in a bounce house for hours.
  • Drivers test

    Drivers test
In the early summer I scheduled my road test. I went to the test site in carmel at about 9 am. I wasn't really nervous and the test instructor came into the car and my test had started. Everything was going very smoothly the whole time. I had just parallel parked and it was time to make the three point turn. It started off smoothly but then I didn't completely turn the wheel before pulling forward and I had hit the curb. This resulted in an automatic fail, which was devastating and embarrassing.
  • College

    College
In the last few months I visited a few colleges in North Carolina. My favorite two were N.C. State and UNC at Chapel Hill. Both of them were really beautiful and led me to the decision that I wanted to travel pretty farto attend college. Both of them have at least one of the majors that I want to take, and I get most likely get accepted into both of them. I also feel like traveling for college is another way of getting to live on my own and be introduced into the real world without my parents.
  • Really?

    Really?
At the beginning of march right when the baseball season had started, an unfortunate event had taken place for me. I had a tremendous amount of pain in my shoulder and it turns out that I had torn my labrum. My season was over and so was my baseball play for at least 5 months. This was heartbreaking, but I knew that I would come back next year even better. As of now I am full strength and I am better than I was before. Getting hurt actually turned out to be a great thing for me in the end.
  • Goal achieved?

    Goal achieved?
Throughout my entire high school career I have set goals to achieve a certain gpa each quarter and each year. For each class it varies but for each quarter I try to get at least a 94.00 and for the year I try and get at least a 95.5.So far I have achieved this every single quarter and year and have gotten high honor roll every single quarter. This gpa average is a 4.0 and is really beneficial for me to apply for colleges. Through my senior year I will have the same goals and I will achieve them.
