  • First Continental Congress

    This meeting was held in response to the British Parliament, from their recent intolerable acts. This meeting helped define Great grievances against Great Britain and forced Parliament to address these grievances.
  • Second Contunental Congress

    This meeting was held in response to the recent battle of Lexington and Concord. They wanted to declare their necessity of taking up arms against Great Britain. Seven men were assigned to sign a document as a declaration against Great Britain's rule.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    This petition was drafted by the Second Continental congress in a last attempt to get King George III to reason with them. This way, if they can avoid a revolutionary war that is inevitable against Great Britain.
  • The Prohibtory Act

    This act was an act of retaliation from Great Britain. This act was passed in retaliating against the American Revolution. This is also what launched an economic kind of warfare against the colonies.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    A document that was declaring independence and freedom from Great Britain. The document declares the country to not be ruled by Great Britain.
