    Prince Henry was enthusiastic of the goods they found in Cueta. He wished to find more of the jewels and treasures they found in conquered lands that he founded a navagation school in Portugal

    Christopher Columbus lands in the Americas
    Christopher Columbus beleived he had landed in India but it turned out he had miscalculated and actually landed in the Americas. He claimed the land for Soain and called the natives to the land "Los indios". Scholars believe Christopher landed in the Bahamas.

    Hernando Cortes landed on Mexicos shore
    Cortes and his crew went to Mexico due to rumors of treasures. They were the first settlers in the Americas. They carved through Mexico, South America and the United States looking for gold, silver and other goods.

    Vasco da Gama arrived to the port of Calicut in 1498. They found jewels, silks, and other rare items in the shops there. When they returned to Portugal their cargo was worth 60 times then the cost of the voyage.

    Cortes' crew discovered the wealthy Aztec Empire. Montezuma believed that Cortes was a god.Some of Cortes' men killed many Aztec warriors. This caused the Aztec to rebel and drive out Cortes and his men in 1520.

    Francisco Pizarro conquered Incan empire.
    When Pizarro went to a meeting with the Incan ruler, he captured the ruler Atahualpa. They Incans offered gold and silver for the release of thier ruler. After recieving the gold and silver he killed the ruler. Then marched to the capital and captured the land.

    Daimyo Oda Nobunaga seized the capital Kyoto. He was a brutal ruler and ruled with definite force. He armed his soldiers with musekts. I 1582 he committed seppuku because his generals turned on him.

    A group of London Investors were told by King James to found a colony in 1606. They reached Virginia in 1607 and claimed it. They named thier coony Jamestown.

    Ther pilgrims were persecuted for their religious beliefs and they wished to have a land were they could have religious freedom. So they cretaed the second english colony in America and called it Plymouth.

    The Japanese rulers were not happy with the Christian Missionaries coming to convert the Japanese people, They decided to seal the borders and create a "closed country policy". They also forced citizens to create faithfulness to the Buddhism.

    With the permission of his fathetr the Duke of York drove out the dutch from New NEtherland. He renamed the land New York and claimed it as an English colony. After the Dutch were gone the English began to colonize the coast
