    1543- Portuguese traders shipwreck near Tangeshima island off the southern coast of Japan. Intrigued by the Portuguese firearms, the local daimyo warlord bought two guns from the European sailors and ordered his swordsmith to make copies. The daimyo then asked the Portuguese for shooting lessons.
    1549- Eager for more firearms, the Japanese welcome trade with the Portuguese

    Oda Nobunaga assassinates his own uncle

    Oda Nobunaga assassinates his own uncle
    When Oda Nobunaga's father died, his uncle (Nobutomo) took the opportunity and declared himself the leader of the Owari Clan. Nobunaga wasn't going to let that happen without a fight. Nobunaga defeated his uncle in a battle which resulted in Nobutomo committing suicide.

    After finding out that his brother is plotting against him, Oda Nobunaga uses illness to get him near. While paying his respects to his sick brother, Nobuyuki (Oda Nobunaga's brother) is killed.

    While trying to think of a reason to conquer Kyoto, a man claiming to be Ashikaga Yoshiaki ( the brother of the Shogun of Japan that was assassinated). Yoshiaki needs Oda Nobunaga's help to become Shogun.

    Oda Nobunaga commits suicide
    Oda Nobunaga had become a powerful feudal lord. This meant that he would have a lot of enemies. That year, Nobunaga received a message from a general requesting reinforcements. Oda Nobunaga dispatches his troops and sat down for a little rest in the temple of Honno-ji near Kyoto. Upon waking up the next morning, he found the temple surrounded by samurai. With no other choice, Oda Nobunaga committed suicide.
