    Turko-Egyptian rule of Sudan
    The Turko-Egyptian rule of Sudan was lead by Muhammad Ali, who seized the capital city Khartoum. Then ended the colonization. This ruling set chaos througout the country. Many Sudanese lives were lost when the Sudanese were forced to leave Sudan to Egypt. Many could'nt endure the tough journey, so passed away.

    British Colonization Of Sudan
    Together with Egypt, Britian colonized and changed Sudan. This colonization modernized Sudans form of government and improved Sudan in many ways. Though, in 1924. The British split Sudan into two halves. North and south. These two sides didn't recieve equivalent help and support.

    Britians southern policy
    A while after the British colonized Sudan. They divided Sudan into two parts, northern and southern. Southern sudan was literally excluded from Sudan. For southern sudanese people to go to the north, they needed a passport when they were in the same country. Northern Sudan was more developed and improved, where southern Sudan is still lacking basic infrastructures. Southern Sudan was seperated because they were not as modernized as the north.

    In 1983 Sudan started fighting for independence. In 1956, they were independent and ever since, the north has different people living in different parts. Sudan still countinued as a country and are still enemies with the south.

    Anya Nya is a group of rebels formed by Joseph Lagu. Anya Nya is a group from southern Sudan that fought against the north after Sudan's independence in 1956. Until 1972 when they signed a agreement contract call Addis Ababa. (IMG) (African history)

    The only good thing Nimeiri did was stopping the first civil war. Otherwise, he was unwanted by civivlians. He cheated in elections to win. He wasn't someone his country could depend on.

    South Sudan discovered oik in 1978. This motivated and excited many Sudanese because they were looking foward to a better quality life and no more poverty. But no. Apparantely, the North were in the way again. North wanted the oil and the central government didn't allow the south to keep the oil. Instead, the oil went to the North when it actually came from the south.

    The SPLM/A was created to free the Sudanese. It was made to protect Dinka people and maintain Dinkaism.

    2nd Civil War
    The root cause of the second civil war came from Sudan's new president. Jaafar Nimeri. Jaafar Nimeri introduced a new law called "sharia law". Which is very strict and mean. The Sudan people didn't afree with his decison so started a war.

    Sudan had a shortage of water and food. People were not making money because crops were not growing. The government did not want to help, because he feared the SPLM/A might benefit from it. Because of this, Hunger, thirst, and brutality spreaded all over Sudan. Leading to innumerable deaths.

    Omar Al-Bashir closed way for anyone else to comment or change his political system and thinking while he was in power. He is also wanted by the international crimes court for the amount of bloodshed he has created. He was claimed cheating many times and also unwanted by civilians.

    The Darfur conflict occured as a result of different beliefs and thinkings. Fighting was between the rebel groups and the northern Sudanese government. Janjaweeds were sent to massacre the rebels but ended up killing many innocents too.

    Fighting erupted in Sudan in 2003. Between the northern government and the rebels. A group of Arab men called Janjaweeds were sent by the government to massacre the rebels. The Janjaweeds ended up killing a ton of innocent civilians. The rebels fought for righteousness for being ignored and not cared about because of difference in tribes, religions, and many more.     South Sudan's independence
    After countinous and reppetive fights, South Sudan is now itself. The civilians finally got a chance to vote, and the majority wanted independence. South Sudan's independence slowed down al ot of fighting.South Sudan still needs improvement in infrasturctures and getting more modernized. But Kenya and the united states have been very supportive so far. There are still some fighting between the north and the south on and off but it's not as big a before. (I(IMAGE)
