I chose this topic because having the right to vote is a big deal to a lot of people. Having schooling is a big deal. The schools being tax supported and free education is also a something that people look at when they are looking at education. -

I believe that all children should have the equal right to education even if they have a disability. Having free and public education helps prepare the children for their futures. With having an IEP myself, I know what its like to be pulled into other rooms for math and reading. We also joined the regular classroom once in a while also so we didn't feel left out. -
A Nation at Risk
I chose this because when I was in school, they always pushed us to study and prepare for the national testing. I always remember when it came to be test time, the teachers would be helping us to prepare for it to get good scores. Based on our test scores, the teachers were able to help us with what we struggled on. -
No Child Left Behind Act
I believe this is the best law that was ever made. It holds teachers accountable to make sure students succeed especially the low income families. Having teachers that have the subject matter knowledge for what they are teaching has always made me feel like they do know what they are teaching and I am learning something new at the same time. -
Race to the Top
Obama did a great job getting the education levels to the top in my opinion. Federal grants are a great thing to have to help college students be able to afford schooling. There are some people that choose college isn't for them but that's ok also. If you put your mind to anything, you can accomplish things.
