  • My first mets game at Citi field

My first mets game at Citi field
We had gotten the tickets through Girl Scouts, my family and I. As we walked into the stadium all I could think was "Wow this amazing!" and "There's a lot of people here." They gave us all teddy bears in Mets jerseys before we headed to our seats. As we got closer we thought we would be sitting next to strangers. But before the game started Grace, a girl from my Girl Scout troop and her family walked up and sat next to us. I had won a prize and I don't remember who the Mets payed but I had fun.
  • First riding lesson

    First riding lesson
A few weeks before, we had received the yearly ad for rec sports. I wanted to do both horseback riding and fencing but my parents made me pick one so I went with riding. As my sneakers hit the cement floors, I looked at every horse I passed as if I had never seen one before. Eventually my mom and I made it to the office where we met the owners, she signed paperwork, I met Jen, and we went to get Joe together. after I met Joe, Jen taught how to groom and how to walk on the lunge line.
  • First Time Falling Off a Horse

First Time Falling Off a Horse
I walked into the barn and looked n the board to see who I was riding, instead of one of the ones I normally ride it's a horse by the name of Ivan. I walk down the isle and spot a door with his name on it and loom inside. I had never seen him before but I take him out and get him ready. We go out to the ring and while trotting he just stops. After trying for awhile I eventually resort to something I remember seeing in a movie where you move the reins a certain way. He sped up, I came off.
  • First "Real" roller coaster

    First "Real" roller coaster
I was at Six Flags New England with my family and had decided I wanted to ride the roller coaster "Batman:The Dark Knight". Nobody else in my family wanted to go with me s I want on line alone. with ever minute that passed I became more and more nervous. When I finally got on and the attendants strapped me in I was terrified, as the coaster went higher I thought about screaming for them to let me off. But I stopped myself and I had the time of my life, i wanted to go again because it was fun.
  • First Time I was Bucked Off a Horse

First Time I was Bucked Off a Horse
I was riding with this guy and his two kids in a lesson. None of them practiced regular courtesies. I was on a horse that practically spooked at his own shadow. Early on in the lesson one of the kids was literally riding up my horse's butt to the point where the horse I was riding sped up to get away from him. Later on when we were jumping,I went onto the quarter line so I wouldn't crash and the horse I was riding stopped and next thing I knew I was on the ground, wind knocked out of me but fine
  • My Chief Board

    My Chief Board
It had finally come, the day of my chief board. To say I wasn't nervous would be crazy, I had put everything on my uniform on backwards so I was slightly nervous. My 9th period teacher had let me leave class early to study with a very good friend of mine who would also be sitting on my board. Eventually, the time came for me to take my board. I walked up the stairs and asked "Permission to come aboard?". The CMC responded with "Permission granted". I ended up passing with a few mistakes.
  • First Time Witnessed a Horse Emergency

First Time Witnessed a Horse Emergency
It was a weekday afternoon, I couldn't ride on Sunday because I had plans so I went after school. I look at the board and it says I'm riding Jack. I go down the isle, get Jack and bring him up front to groom him and tack him up. I was almost done, I was putting on his bridle when I heard my trainer scream "GET THE GUYS!" So I left Jack's bridle half on and I ran around the barn trying to find the guy. As I saw them I sent them to her.Thankfully they all got there in time and everyone is okay.
  • My Junior Year MIl Ball

    My Junior Year MIl Ball
My friend had just finished doing my make up the way I wanted (barely anything) and it was almost time to go. I got my dress and shoes on, and started getting sparkles on everything. After a few pictures, I said goodbye to my friend and thanked her and we went to pick up my other friend so we could head to the place after taking a few more pictures. After we got there we watched the seniors walk in and we ate. I danced with my friends and ran from a slow dance, it was amazing and unforgettable.
  • Became CMC

    Became CMC
It was the ROTC awards night of my junior year, I could feel my hands sweating as the butterflies in my stomach flew about. My senior friends would start their goodbye journey, and I would get my new position. Clearly a bittersweet feeling. Throughout the ceremony I helped Commander and Mrs Espinoza as needed, until it was time. I waited in my front row seat as my fellow soon to be staff members were called up. I was the last one to be called but I didn't mind a bit. I was the new CMC and proud.
  • First Chief Board I Gave

    First Chief Board I Gave
"Are you okay?" my friend asked half laughing. "Yeah, just a little nervous that's all." I responded. It was the first chief board I had given since I became CMC. And although I had seen Peter, the former CMC give several, this one was the first one run by me. I knew the person I was giving it to well and I was sure he would do fine but that didn't top the nerves from arising. he came up to the door and asked "Permission to come aboard?", I responded with "Permission granted". He passed easily.
