Martin Has Been Jailed
Martin Luther King, Jr. was arrested more than a dozen times. Everytime he was jailed was for his efforts to end segregation in America. He would get out of jail then go try to end segregation again. -
King Won the Nobel Peace Prize
King won the Nobel Peace Prize for trying to desegregate the south. His own country at the time thought he was a liar. The FBI also bugged him. He turned over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement. -
Dr. King's Second Selma-to-Montgomery
Martin luther King, Jr.'s second Selma-to-Montgomery march was a success. The march was to get voting rights. The first one failed. The second march was completed in three days later. -
