Birth
Manuel Noriega was born on Feb.11 1934. At this time “A leader was born” He was born in Panama City, Panama. He was born into his parents Ricaurte Noriega and Maria Moreno however he was raised mostly by his godmother. -
High School.
When he went to highschool around the 1950s he was going to become a psychiatrist. Due to his family not having a lot of money he ended up not being able to go to Med school. Instead, he won a scholarship to a military academy in Peru. -

After graduating in 1962, Noriega started his career in Panama's intelligence services.Noriega had become a strong, trusted source for U.S. intelligence. While cutting deals with drug traffickers, like Pablo Escobar times were about to change. -
Panamas Dictator
In 1983 essentially functioning as Panama's dictator, sans the title, he orchestrated a puppet government throughout the decade, selecting the country's presidents of his choosing. He was rising to the top as we spoke. -
Invasion
In 1989 The us invaded Panama in search for Norigea.Their goal was to over throw the Panama dictator Manuel Norigea. They needed to make sure a man like him didn’t have too much power. In order to keep the Panama Canal, they got him out the next year in 1990. -
In trouble.
In 1992 He was sent to jail for 40 years due to cocaine Trafficking,racketeering, and money laundering. Norigea became the first foreign head of state to be convicted of criminal charges in an american court. However his years in jail soon became shorter than 40 years. -
Jail
On September 9th 2007 he completed 17 years of prison. He was supposed to be set free on that date however he commited many other crimes. After the government had found these problems he remained in jail. -
Appeal
In 2010 he decided to stand and to take another appeal however the government refused to even hear it. In that June Noriega was extracted to france to have another trial there. He then was sentenced to another 7 years in prison. -
France
In 2011 France agreed to excite him to Panama, where he had been on trial however he was absent.Later he returned to his home county. There he was held for 3 terms of twenty years in prison. -
Illness
In 2016 his doctor told him that he needed to undergo surgery to remove a benign brain tumor that he had gotten while in jail. After that they agreed to let himself recover under house arrest. In that 2017 he faced brain hemorrhage problems. -
Death
In March 2017 he got diagnosed for brain issues. He then died on May 29th 2017 at age 83. He died due to brain hemorrhage, a stroke, and he was in a coma when they announced his death. He died in the hospital Santo Tomas, in Panama City.
