    The Battles of Lexington and Concord	Lexington and Concord Massachusetts
    These battles kicked off the American Revolutionary War. The battles in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy, and Cambridge. This was the first of many wins for the colonists in the war.

Fewer than a hundred colonists, under the command of their leaders, Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold of Massachusetts, crossed Lake Champlain at dawn, surprising and capturing the still-sleeping British garrison at Fort Ticonderoga. These few colonists beat Lieutenant General John Burgoyne's 8,000-man army and took control of Fort Ticonderoga.
