    The American constitution told the basic rights and how the government would be run for its people. The constitution helped to inspire other nations to gain rights for their people.

    Louis the XIV calls the estates general

    The estates general was called because of political and financial problems facing France. This included weakening power of the kind and taxes. During this meeting, the third estate is overruled. They decided to create the National Assembly as a result which would then lead to the tennis court oath.
  • Parisians storm the Bastille

    Many people stormed the prison and stole weapons. They did so too show their power because of the absolute monarchy's abuse of power. It was a flash point of the French revolution. It was important because it showed that the people were going to take control and fight for their rights.

    In august 27, 1789, was influenced by the natural rights and enlightenment thinkers. It was a human civil rights document for the French people during the French revolution.

    Beginning of The Reign of Terror

    The king and queen of France were killed by the guillotine, voted on by simple majority. After this, the reign of terror began. The purpose of it was to get rid of enemies of the French revolution as well as foreign invaders.

    Napoleon was a French military leader and emperor. Napoleon overthrew the Directory of Directorate and replaced it with the French Consulate. This made him the ruler.

    Napoleon Builds an Empire

    After Napoleon took over France, he began to build an empire. He conquered Northern Italy, Switzerland, western Germany, and Belgium. He fought and took over these area making a great empire for the time being. My source for this evidence was Britannica.com.

    Napoleon's invasion of Russia was the beginning of the end. His army suffered major losses and was forced to retreat. His empire began to fall after this. Russia had significantly weakened France.

    The purpose of the Congress of Vienna was to discuss terms for long lasting peace between European countries after the French Revolution. The negotiated and made terms. The meetings ending in June 1815. I used lumen learning.com as a source for my evidence.
  • Napoleon Defeated at Waterloo

    British and Prussian forces defeated the French at Waterloo. France lost the battle and Napoleon was exiled (multiple times) and would later die. This battle was his end. History.com was my source for this information.
