When Pip heard the news of Mrs. Joe's death, he was surprised at how sad it made him. He wanted to forget his past while in London surrounded by rich, succcesful people but his sister's death made him realize he could never block out something that big in his life. -
Pip's 21st Birthday
When Pip turns twenty-one, he is offiicially an adult and gets a regular income. He decides to use his new found freedom to help Herbert. Pip becomes Herbert's secret benefactor and buys Herbert a partnership. -
Estella's Parents
Finally all the answers are revealed and the pieces are connected. Pip learns that Magwitch is Estella's real father and Molly, Mr. Jaggers housekeeper is her mother. This changes how Pip and the readers view Estella now. -
Pip's Benefactor
Pip learns that his benefactor is not Miss Havisham but the convict from long ago at the marshes. Magwitch, the convict, needs help and at first Pip is very reluctant but eventually agrees to help him. Soon, Pip begins to become extremely loyal to Magwitch and appreciates him. -
Magwitch's Capture and Death
While they are trying to flee Magwitch, he is found and captured. By this point Pip has grown to love and care for Magwitch and while he is in jail and sick Pip realizes that he has never felt this way towards Joe. Magwitch is dying and PIp tells him of Estella. -
First Day of Pre-School and Hannah
First day of pre-school at Stepping Stones. Hannah, my little sister, was also born that day. Got to go out of school early to see her. -
Hannah's Injury
I accidentally hit Hannah with a golf club in the head and she had to get four stitches on her forehead and has a scar. Now I'm scared to golf and be careful. -
Oxford
Started to attend Oxford Academy. Lost some of my close elementary friends but gained lots of new, close friends. -
Grandma's Death
My grandmother died and it was a really hard time for my whole family. -
ADHD
Found out about Hannah's severe ADHD. I realized why she acts the way she does and I wanted to be nicer to her and be a better sister. -
Leaving
My youth pastor and wife announced that they were leaving our church and moving to another state. I was really close to them and them leaving made me realize that "life is made of ever so many partings welded together" (Dickens, 223). -
Debt
I spent a lot of money on my mom's credit card so now I can't spend any money or get any money until I pay her all back. Taught me to be more careful with my spendings and to take responsibility for my actions.
