Accepted to medical school at MSU

What- Larry Nassar works as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Wayne State. He dropped out when he got accepted into medical school at Michigan State.

Larry Joins becomes the gymnastic trainer for the USA gymnastics team.

What- In 1986 Nassar left Michigan and joined the USA gymnastics team as the athletic trainer.

Why- This is when he started to be around woman a lot more. -
Nassar start's the abuse

What- Larry Nassar started to sexually abuse the olympic medalist. The abuse went on for six years.
When- He started in 1994
Where- Michigan State.
Why- This is a huge event because this is his first event of him sexual assaulting girls. -
A Parent Complains
Who- Jerry Nassar, a child or teen, and a Parent.
What- Jerry Nassar sexual assaults a child or teen we don't know and a parent tells his concerns to Jerry's boss but he doesn't notify the police.

Why- This is important because what if the police would of got notified earlier there would of been less assaults. -
Larry assaults a six year old and a student athlete
Who- Larry Nassar, A six year old, and a student athlete.
What- Larry got away with touching the six year old inappropriately every other week for five years. Larry also got away with abusing a student athlete and MSU didn't do anything about it.

Why- Again if he would of gotten in trouble earlier he wouldn't of been able to do these assaults. -
Jerry assaults his second MSU student athlete
Who- Larry Nassar and Rachael Denhollander
What- A second student reported concerns about Larry but the program didn't do anything about it. The girl was 15 years old at the time.
When- This happened in 2000
Where- East Lansing, Michigan.
Why- Again this is the second time that he abused a girl while working at MSU and if MSU would of done something about it he would've been locked up sooner. -
MSU clears Nassar of any wrongdoing
Who- Larry Nassar, Michigan State, and woman.
What- Michigan State University clears Larry Nassar of any wrongdoing three months after a MSU graduate complains Jerry sexually assaulted her during a medical examination.

MSU Fires Nassar
Who- Larry Nassar and Michigan State
What- Michigan State finally fires Larry from being an associate professor in the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
When- September 20th, 2016
Where- East Lansing, Michigan.
Why- This is huge that MSU fired him so he couldn't abuse more people. -
Nassar is charged
Who- Larry Nassar.
What- Larry Nassar is finally charged in court with three accounts of first degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13. He could face up to life in prison. There were about 50 complains of sexual assault,
When- November 22, 2016.
Why- This is big they finally took it to court. -
37,000 images and videos
Who- Larry Nassar
What- Nassar is denied bond. A FBI agent testifies in court that investigators found 37,000 images and videos of child pornography on hard drives. They found this when they searched his house.
When- December 21st, 2016.

Why- This is huge. That is a lot of pornography. -
Nassar destroys the evidence
Who- Larry Nassar
What- Larry nassar is charged on destroying computer files where he kept his child pornography.
When- February 7th, 2017

Why- This is just showing that he has the pornography by destroying it. -
Nassar got EXPOSED
Who- Larry and girls.
What- Larry was sentenced to 40-175 years in prison. The hearing was 4 days with 88 victim impact statements. In a little over 7 days another 156 woman and girls made statements.

Why- That is crazy he got exposed by that many woman. -
Nassar in prison for life

What- Larry is finished with his court and he gets sentenced to life in prison.

Why- This was a big story and they finally figured it all out.
