    0 to 2 years

    The baby will first start by making cooing noises. Next syllables will start to form and the baby will sound like they are babbling. By the age of one they will have a small vocabulary and will be speaking more accurately. Then the vocabulary will expand to between 50 to 500 words by the age of 2. The 2 year old will be able to combined 2 words.

    2 to 5 years

    During this time caregivers can develop the language skills. Teaching A say /a/ and B says /b/. Teaching the child to be able to tell the difference between if something is theirs or someone else's. So focusing on word meaning, and knowing how to build words. (Anthony, M.)
  • Period: to

    6 to 12 years

    Making sure the child is vocabulary is constantly growing and developing. The child should be able to answer questions with more than a yes or no. The child should also be able to listen and engage with a story. (Gavin, M. L)
