    In 1477, Isabelle became Queen of Castile, and in 1479 Ferdinand beacame King of Aragon. The Crown of Castile and Aragon were united.
    But this union was only a personal union. They governed together but each kingdom had its own institutions.
    When Isabelle died the spanish throne pass to her daughter Joana while Ferdiand continued being King of Aragon. Joana was unable to reign, so Ferdinand work as king until Charles I occupied the throne of both crowns.

    He was convenced he could reach eastern coast of Asia crossing the Atlantic Ocean, beacuse he thought that the Earth round not flat.
    Columbus left the port of Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) with ninety sailors and three ships the Pinta, the Niña and the Santa María.
    They came back the 12 October 1492.
    After the first expedition, Columbus made three more ones.
