First Korean Choson emerges in the northern Korean Peninsula -

New Dynasty
The Choson Dynasty had begun to rule. This dynasty will continue to rule until the year 1910. -
The Hermit Kingdom
After resisting the Mongol invaders, Korea had become recognized as The Hermit Kingdom. The reason being was because Korea had declared an official policy of isolation. -
Japanesse Warships Arrive
Soon after establishing the policy of isolation Japanese warships arrived. A "gunboat diplomacy" by Japan had forced Korea to open up its ports for trade. -
Japanese Annexed Korea
The Japanese had officially declared Korea as their own which had made it their colony. As a result of the Japanese invading, Koreans were stripped from their jobs, livelihoods, rights and freedoms.
