Start of College
I started college when I was a junior in high school to get a head start, I originally started in nursing but after two years I changed my major to education. -
Won regionals in softball
My senior year of softball we went into the playoffs and went as far as regionals and became regional runner ups. -
Graduated High school
I graduated with honors from Portsmouth West high school. -
Went on senior trip
Went to Myrtle Beach with some of my best friends from school after we graduated before starting the real world. This is uncommon and I’m so greatful for it but we all still see each other just about every weekend. (We were a very close class) -
Fought cancer and lost a loved one
My mamaw was diagnosed with Lung cancer in October 2016. She lived with my mother and I for 12 years so it was very hard. We did everything but sadly lost her in January 2017. She is the reason I changed my major to education. In the hospital with her, I was studying for nursing and she looked at me and said, “Kelsie, why are you doing this to yourself, you have always wanted to be a teacher, so be a teacher, who cares about the money, as long as you are happy with your life at the end of it.” -
Went to New York
I went to the city I have wanted to go to forever! It was a lot dirtier than I expected -
Enrolled in class
This class was the next step in my journey to becoming a future educator. I hope to earn things to be not a good teacher, but a great teacher to my future students.
