    Adopted from Mexico
I was born in Mexico on February 9, 1999. I was adopted and brought home on December 22, 1999. My parents found out about me when I was two days old and they had the chance to meet me for the first time when I was two weeks old. To this day, they have not opened up to me about the entire adoption process they faced for approximately ten months. I would not be here today if it were not for them and I definitely consider this event to be one of the most important in my life.
  • Europe Trip

    Europe Trip
For nineteen days, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Europe. I visited Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria. People to People Ambassador Program granted me a trip of a lifetime. I saw so many breathtaking sights and made lots of memories that will last forever. Traveling taught me that the experience of new places and cultures far outweighs reading about them. Seeing the architecture, meeting new people and tasting all kinds of different cuisines really broadened my worldview.
  • Blue and Gray Award

    Blue and Gray Award
After being accepted into Shawnee State, they awarded me with the Blue and Gray scholarship. I appreciate this scholarship so much because we all know the sacrifices that we have to make to get where we are and to achieve our goals. The amount of time and patience that I have devoted to my college career will pay off. This scholarship reminds me to keep going and to never give up.

  • First Education Course

    First Education Course
During the fall semester of 2017, I took my first education course. I was beyond excited for this course and it was my all time favorite during that semester. Professor Dunham not only made the course fun but she encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone. She challenged us and inspired us to become better educators. This course assured me that I was on the right path.
  • EDRE2204

I am excited to see how this course helps me to become a better teacher in the future. When I was in school, reading was not my favorite subject. I still avoid reading as much as possible but I hope this course teaches me how to make learning about reading and writing fun so that my students have a passion for it.
