    School Trip To Washington D.C.
The fated D.C. trip was upon me. I heard of it from the other kids older than me be couldn't imagine how fun it would be. I woke up early, got on the bus, and we made our way down to D.C. We stayed for three days and got to see many things. We went to many museums such as the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, as well as more sentimental places such as Arlington Cemetery. I think it was was a great trip and during it I learned much and had a lot of fun visiting many of the places.
  • Camp Read

    Camp Read
I had just joined Boy Scouts and was going to participate in one of the biggest camp-outs all year, Camp Read. Arriving there on a Saturday we stay there for a whole week camping in the woods. You have many opportunities to complete many merit badges and work on getting your next rank. Also, you have to pick up your food from a station a half a mile away, make you own breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and have extra because we have to feed the staff. It was very fun and I really wanted to go again.
  • First Day of High School

    First Day of High School
The first day of high school was an intense one. I didn't know the layout of the school too well. There were many people I didn't know, all bigger and taller than me. I had trouble finding my classes for the first couple of weeks. My schedule was always in hand. But in the end, it was a great experience. I was in 9th grade. It was something I always looked at and always seemed so far away. But suddenly it was upon me. I took it in stride and continued to make 9th grade a great year and success.
  • First Tennis Season

    First Tennis Season
My first tennis season was a rocky one. It was the first time I was playing doubles, and the first time I was playing competitively. It was a completely different experience to what I was used to. I adapted the best I could and tried my best. Me and my partner Eddy did ok throughout the season but otherwise the team didn't do the best. The team went 1-13 during the season. Although I would consider it a failure I couldn't say that all of it was, as I learned a lot and got better throughout it.
  • Getting a Job

    Getting a Job
I happened to get a job working as an assistant at an after school/daycare called Over the Rainbow. I help the school aged children with homework after they get off the bus and with various different projects to keep them busy. It's a very good place, all of the people working there are very nice. I normally work Mondays and Fridays from 3 to 6 and enjoy it. I used to go there when I was younger so it's cool to help and give back what I once received when I was younger. I consider this a success
  • Finishing the Movie for AP World History

Finishing the Movie for AP World History
This was the date that I finished editing our final project for AP World. Me and my friends had an ambitious goal: to create the best movie Mr. Mullane had ever seen. We started working even before Mr. Mullane gave out the assignment and began to craft and weave an epic story. We recorded everything and all that was left was for me to edit it. All I did after I got home from school was edit, and what a success it was. The movie came together perfectly.

  • Driver's Permit

    Driver's Permit
I went into the DMV. I got my test. I sat down. Looked at the questions. Circled what I though was correct. Handed it in. Passed. I felt relief wash over me. I turned 16 in January but delayed taking the driver's permit to then because I just didn't feel like I felt I needed to. Taking the test was mostly on a whim. I just woke up that morning and decided to. I was studying throughout the entire morning and even in the car ride there. It didn't feel like it should but I consider it a success.
  • Not Driving

    Not Driving
This doesn't necessarily have a specific date but I'll place it here, after the driver's permit. After I got the permit I didn't drive at all. I have only drove two other times to date. I thought that I didn't have a need to drive, as where I work is fairly close, some of my friends live close to me, and I have a bike and like biking to places. I was wrong. Some of my friends are now getting their licences and now I see how useful they are. Choosing not to drive was a failure on my part.
  • Lyme Disease

    Lyme Disease
I felt weird. I didn't feel good. I decided to go to the doctors. The doctor did a few tests on me. He didn't know what was wrong so he sent me off to a cardiologist. The cardiologist did a test on me and came back with the news, I had Lyme disease. I then got sent off to go to the hospital and wound up being there for 6 nights. I had an IV in me constantly and I was wired up to computers. It was pretty freaky but I came through and was alright in the end, I beat Lyme disease.
  • Spartan Race

    Spartan Race
The Spartan Race, located in MetLife stadium, an event that only happens once a year, was something that I was able to participate in. It was a three mile course, filled with obstacles such as carrying five gallon water jugs or 100lb balls, spear throwing, and climbing over 6 foot hurdles. It was difficult, but as me and my group progressed through it we persevered and made it through with an above average pace. It took 2 hours but was great and I loved it.
