Recovery / Influences
While taken to recover, Ignatius of Loyola had nothing to do but to read religious books. One grand influence, was the book " De Vita Christi", comments of Jesus' life. This book helped him to become a spiritual person. Also his motto “Ad maiorem Dei gloriam”, which means “To the greater glory of GOD.” Also, reading about “saints” like St. Ignatius of Antioch, which is why he changed to Ignatius on his master’s degree from Iñigo, influenced him to have a life like a “saint”. -

Obstacles
Obstacles included, embarrassment by studying with kids from 8 to 14 years old. Also, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, depression, and many more other things. One very hard obstacle was to become a "saint", he must have followed strict guidelines. -

Education
After years of education with small and big kids, and adults, Ignatius of Loyola finally got a master’s degree in priesthood, in March of 1535, in College St. Barbe, in Paris, France. He couldn’t get a doctor’s degree, because he was too old according to the reglaments. This master’s degree helped Ignatius of Loyola become well-known for founding the Society of Jesus. -

The Society of Jesus is a catholic organization. It is based on vows to poverty, which means they shouldn’t be greedy. Vows to chastity, don’t get married, and don't do things you do in mrriage. And the last vow, is to pilgrimage to Jerusalem, so they had to preach and go on missionaries. It was approved in September 27, 1540. -

After Ignatius of Loyola died in in July 31, 1556, in Rome, Italy, he was canonized, or declared a "saint", in March 12, 1622.
